Tyrosine and resveratrol derivatives as novel modulators of cellular serine-ADP-ribosylation

Description:

Reference #: 01578

The University of South Carolina is offering licensing opportunities for Tyrosine and resveratrol derivatives as novel modulators of cellular serine-ADP-ribosylation

Background:

Currently, there are no molecules that specifically inhibit only serine-ADP-ribosylation without affecting global ADP-ribosylation.

Invention Description:

We discovered that tyrosine and trans-resveratrol selectively inhibit serine-ADP-ribosylation while activating ADP-ribosylation potentially on glutamic and aspartic acid residues.

Potential Applications:

Our results suggest that increased tyrosine levels may have causal effects on aging and age-associated diseases and therefore, derivatives of tyrosine and resveratrol that modulate serine-ADP-ribosylation will have tremendous therapeutic potential against aging and age-associated diseases.

Advantages and Benefits:

Therefore, small molecules based on tyrosine and resveratrol structures will be the first of their kind to selectively modulate only serine-ADP ribosylation.
