John H. Gerdes, Jr., PhD. Integrated Information Technology, College of Hospitality, Sport and Retail Management University of South Carolina Dr. Gerdes is an Associate Professor in the Technology Support and Training Management Program at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. His research interests include web based data mining, knowledge management, electronic commerce, distance learning, and data security. Dr. Gerdes’ articles have appeared in the Communications of the ACM, Decision Support Systems, Transactions of the IIE, and other journals. He is currently an associate editor for Electronic Commerce Research, and Telecommunications Systems. Dr. Gerdes holds a B.S. and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a M.B.A. from Lehigh University, a M.S. in Computer Science from Vanderbilt, and a PhD. in Information Systems from Vanderbilt University.
